 Resident Rights &  Policies

In accordance with Chapter 70.128 RCW and Chapter 388-76 WAC, our Adult Family Home is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and transparent environment for all residents. The following policies outline our operational standards and your rights as a resident in Pierce County.

1. Admission and Disclosure of Services
Prior to admission, each resident or their representative will receive:

  • A formal Disclosure of Services (DSHS 10-508) detailing the levels of care we provide.

  • A written Disclosure of Charges (DSHS 15-449) outlining all monthly fees, itemized services, and potential additional costs.

  • A signed Residency Agreement which establishes the terms of stay, comparable to the Residential Landlord-Tenant Act.

2. Resident Rights and Privacy
Residents retain all rights as citizens of the United States and the State of Washington. This includes:

  • The right to be treated with dignity and respect.

  • The right to privacy in communications, medical records, and personal care.

  • The right to participate in the development of their individual Negotiated Care Plan (NCP).

  • The right to manage their own financial affairs or be provided a full accounting if the home assists with funds.

3. Safety and Emergency Preparedness
Our home maintains strict safety protocols as required by the City of Puyallup and Pierce County:

  • Staffing: A qualified, background-checked caregiver is on-site at all times (24/7).

  • Emergency Drills: Fire and evacuation drills are conducted monthly to ensure resident and staff readiness.

  • Medical Care: We maintain written health care procedures for medication administration and emergency medical interventions.
